Dr. Felker’s practice is limited to individual, couples, and group psychotherapies with adults. He has a special interest in working with people with anxiety disorders, trauma and post-trauma stress reactions and disorders, and both acute and chronic relationship dysfunction. He believes that most psychological suffering, apart from trauma or extreme hardship, results from difficulties in creating and sustaining loving, supportive relationships. He believes that therapy must be grounded on a thorough diagnostic understanding of a person in depth and not solely as a collection of symptoms and negative behaviors. Dr. Felker uses an integrative, individually-tailored therapy approach, blending interpersonal, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based therapy traditions grounded in empirically supported techniques best suited to each individual’s presenting problems and relationship style.
