Ivey Walker, Ph.D.

Dr. Walker earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University in 2024. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Atlanta Psychological Services and her predoctoral internship at the Georgia Tech Counseling Center. She also holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Career Counseling from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia.

Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Dr. Walker has trained and practiced in a variety of settings, including university counseling and assessment centers, career centers, schools, and private practices. She provides comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, addressing concerns such as developmental disorders, mood disorders, and the need for academic or workplace accommodations. She also has experience conducting forensic evaluations, including parental fitness, substance use, psychosexual, custody, and domestic violence.  

In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Walker offers individual psychotherapy for adults. Her areas of focus include career concerns, trauma, mood disorders, relationship and social functioning, and life transitions. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, with the belief that healing comes from building a healthier, more balanced relationship with all parts of ourselves. 

Outside of work, Dr. Walker enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, cooking, exercising, and exploring new places with her husband and dog.
