Dr. Walker is a graduate of Wake Forest University and holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Miami University (OH). Dr. Walker provides psychological services for adolescents and adults. He approaches both assessment and psychotherapy from a collaborative, patient-focused perspective. He offers a range of assessment services in order to help individuals better understand their own personal situation as well as to collaborate with other providers (physicians, therapists, schools) in providing responsive and integrated care.
Dr. Walker performs diagnostic assessments for a variety of different disorders (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders in adolescents and adults), as well as for various other situations in which individuals require psychological evaluation (e.g., documentation for school/work, medical consultation, bariatric surgery, adoption, etc.).
Dr. Walker also provides individual and couples psychotherapy. His specialties include: Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military service members and families, Anxiety & Mood Disorders, ADHD, Men’s & Women’s Issues, and affective and relational concerns. Dr. Walker integrates cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and mindfulness-based approaches in individual therapy and believes that successful change in therapy results from a strong working partnership between the individual and the therapist. Personally, Dr. Walker enjoys the outdoors, football, and making and eating good food.
